I just now realized that not only do you give us beautiful images and ideas to draw on, but you are also quite poetic in your descriptions of what you find….makes each find very desirable and more beautiful because of the words you use to bring them to us…you’re a treasure!

I love your voice threads — adds a new dimension to a visit to your site. Heck, I just LOVE your site! It’s fun, inspirational and always interesting. I visit every day, share with friends, and am disappointed every weekend when it dawns on me there won’t be more till Monday. Your site is a true gift to the art community and I’m appreciative of all the time, effort and work you put into it. Anything you add to it is a gift, as far as I’m concerned, so go for it! You’re an online jewel!

I wanted to write and thank you ENORMOUSLY for your amazing blog/musing. I am an artist and art professor at Clark University in Mass. For some years now I have been teaching a class called Exploring the Natural World- a combination of field drawing, printmaking and mixed-media. We talk about human’s relationship to the natural world, and the contrast of Society at large’s perception of a separation of the two vs. the indigenous knowing of our interrelation with all that is. We touch on ecology and look at art inspired by the natural world. I start them out looking at forms, patterns and structures of natural objects that lead to drawings, prints and small sculptures and I encourage enormous experimentation in materials and mediums. I can’t always find examples of just what I am looking for. Just the other day I stumbled across your site while searching for examples of work for inspiration. I have to say, your site is THE BEST resource I have found so far. I don;’t have a ton of time to research as I’ve got the teaching to do, so your site is an amazing help for me. THANK YOU! I love the work you’re including as they are great examples of a broad range of materials and mediums. I probably won’t venture too much further than your daily blog and archives this semester and will require my students to do some research there to help with generating ideas.

Hello. Polymer clay (the medium) is not my thing but your blog approach makes it very interesting. I guess this is “the way” with mostly everything. It all depends on how it is presented and then perceived. I find your choices to be very interesting and inspirational. The site is friendly and easy to navigate. I have learned about many artists because of you. Thank you. I hope that you will not stop this project any time soon. Many of us have very personal blogs dedicated to friends and family, but few contain matters of great and general interest!

Susan, the magic of your website is that so often I see things that actually make me gasp. That’s what these (shapes?? Cylinders? Magical tubes of power????) made me do — I found myself holding my breath looking at them. Shape, texture, color, movement — they sing and dance and sway. Thanks for this delightful inspirational head start on a fabulous new year.

It was only three weeks ago I found your blog, but now check it about 3 times a day to see what is new, for I have found your mix of postings really helpful. I do printmaking more than polymer clay, for now anyway, and find the directions sparked by your postings invaluable. Thank you and keep up the great work.

I am impressed by how the blog continues to evolve, and how you are always looking to try new ideas and ways of doing things. In addition to all of the inspiration and eye candy, it’s that constant test-driving of new technology and gadgets that sets this space apart.

I discovered your blog about 2 months ago & since then can’t wait to find some new inspiration every day. Living in South Africa has many advantages but unfortunately we don’t have a craft base as in America, so the internet is my favorite companion, your blog being right at the top of my list. South Africa also doesn’t have many workshops, but reading polymer clay notes has more than filled that gap for me & I must admit my work has improved since finding your notes – thank you so much!

Your blog is such a pleasure for me. Thanks for the months (years now for me, actually) of inspiration and thought-provoking ideas. You help me to ask rather profound questions about my art, my life choices, and even my thought processes. Yet your challenges are gentle enough to feel like a good friend asking, probing, pushing and encouraging, rather than an outsider attacking.

As a result of your blog I have returned to drawing and am becoming passionate about doing it daily, and doing it better. Thanks again…. I am a better person because of your blog :>)

Your site is such an inspiration. I’m sorry I haven’t written you before to let you know that but I’m always afraid words will fail me. In addition to the inspiration the site gives me as an artist, I have shared your site with my high school sculpture students many times especially to let them know what’s going on out there with different materials. It also gives them an idea of where they can go for more information. I remember last year they particularly liked the sheep made with old phone cord. We did some paper sculptures that were extensions of a site you presented and they always love the videos. Though I have just moved and am not teaching at the moment, I send the links to my own kids to check out. Don’t stop Susan. Mornings wouldn’t be the same without you.
