new on dam: featured art visual board

Just a quick post to let you know about a NEW feature on DAM:

The Featured ART Visual Board

There is a link for the page on the DAM menu at the top of the site for easy access any time you need a visual feast. There is also an image in the right sidebar that links to the page.

The page operates like Pinterest with infinite scrolling. It’s simply a different way to access and look at DAM posts. See an image that grabs your eye and want to know more? Just click on it and it will bring you straight to the post.

Right now it’s showing ceramic art – I’m working on different filters – the show is a work in progress and will change regularly.

Let me know what you think of this new feature.

Would you like to see the entire blog operate this way or leave it the way it is with 100 or more featured artists on a separate page?

Talk to me!

  1. Seems like a good idea, but in practice, it doesn’t work out too well.
Let’s say I hit the ‘Page down’ key 17 times, then find an artist I want to look at. I look at the artists work, then go back to the Art Visual Board to pick up where I left off; unfortunately, it returns to the top, and I have to scroll all the way down to where I left off to resume the
    Needs work.

  2. I LOVE the Visual Art Board. It’s wonderful to get an overview of all the work and then to be able to click in and spend more time with the artists I especially like. Thank you for all your work on this site. It is an inspiration.

  3. I like the new feature a lot! But I hope you continue to post new artists singly in their own postings. I like to really get to know the artist’s work individually, and as someone else said, the Art Visual Board, while being great eye candy, ultimately overwhelms and doesn’t let one get to know each artist well. So I think each method of presenting artists and their work has merit, they are two different entities and one should not replace the other.

So glad you’re feeling better and inspired! I went through a similar transformation when I ditched the migraines for good a year ago (through diet)!

  4. Hi Susan

Just a quick note to let you know how much I like the new look! The rounded corners and shadowed boxes are soothing and look deliciously neat. The visual board is a smashing idea. Thank you! Not too sure about the fancy typefont (as in Leave a reply)… It perhaps detracts from the rest.

    Big hug to you!

  5. Wow…initial response is OMG brain freeze….so much talent and inspiration. I love to take time…slooowly….later, to single out various components and think about why they appeal to me…or don’t. What I appreciate is all the work you do to put this wonderfull site together…so thank-you so much 🙂

  6. Love it at first, but then it overloads me. One would think that the more eye candy the better. Not so for me, but maybe it is my age, 63. I need focus.
