Holy Smoke is the name of Helen Thompson’s website. I couldn’t resist sharing the UK artist’s charming collection of vintage textile and linen animal sculptures.
Thompson uses wire and thread to add expression and character through a combination of needlework, sewing and knitting. This is three dimensional sketching at it’s best.
The wire birds and nests are also worth a look-see.

holy smoke! damuse. . .has a new muse. . .
First. . .my apologies. I have been away from my computer since Monday and did not know that the site was down for four days. Many thanks to those who wrote to tell me about it. After I read their emails I called my hosting site from the hospital and they fixed it immediately.
Why was I calling from a hospital?
Well. . .I had the honor and privilege of being with my daughter and her partner as they brought their little girl Sofia into the world earlier this week. Mommy, daddy and baby are doing great. Grandma is over the moon. . .so yeah, daMuse has a new muse!

Congrats grandma, love the animals and birds, so expressive.
Sweet pooches and sweet news. Congratulations, grandma Susan
